This Bird of Paradise plant differs from the type used in exterior landscapes, Strelitzia reginae, in that when it flowers, the flower is white. I have only seen them flower outdoors or in a greenhouse type of environment.

This plant, Strelitzia nicolai, somewhat resembles a Musa, or Banana Plant. In use as an interior plant for quite some time, the “White Bird” is the only type used as an interior landscape plant.
