Find an Interior Landscape Company
Are you interested in finding an interior landscape company to care for your plants in your office or at home? There usually are not many companies from which to choose, and some interior plant care companies only do service at commercial or business locations. Some do both commercial buildings and offices and home or residential service. Some interior landscape companies do green walls and some do not. Many also do exterior containers and holiday decorating. That narrows things down a little bit. Ask about the services you would like when you contact an interior landscape company.

I have worked for three interior landscape companies and there were BIG differences in these companies. Two were quite good and one was really bad.
The people who actually take care of your plants are the ones you will see on a regular basis. If they don’t have a good support system behind them, they will have problems. For instance, plants that are not properly cared for before going to accounts can cause big trouble.
What you want is to have healthy, good looking interior plants, right? Of course it is, so a company that does not properly care for its plants before they show up in your office is not giving you what you are paying for.
Also, if you need one or more of your interior plants replaced and it takes your interior landscape service company more than a few weeks to do the replacements, they are not providing you with good service.
The best interior landscape company I worked for was very good at getting things done. The owner maintained and supplied company vehicles to all employees, making sure all accounts would get the service they were paying for. They maintained their own greenhouses, ensuring there were always tropical plants available to use for replacements and new installations. Everything was done with expediency. I could order a plant for a replacement and that plant would be on the account the next week. That is as it should be. If you have an interior plant care service and they take much more than 2 weeks to get a replacement plant to you, you should definitely be using a different interior landscape service.
The worst interior landscape company I worked for was just the opposite. I could order a plant for a replacement and there were times that plant was never replaced. The plants in the warehouse were not well cared for and often looked bad or they would die soon after going to an account. Sometimes I got so frustrated, I would go buy a plant at the local store for a replacement.
This company never had supplies for me, I had to buy them myself. This company also charged based on what they thought you would pay. The owner/salesperson would sometimes mark items up 700% to make bigger sales totals. There was no rhyme or reason in the operation of that company. What a nightmare! You will not find that company in my list of interior landscape companies.
I know this is not common but, my point is, you may not be getting what you think you are paying for. Check reviews, if you can find them. Often times, you won’t find many reviews, but if you do find more than two or three bad reviews about a company, I would pick another interior landscape company. I know for a fact that the “bad” company just mentioned had family members post good reviews to try to offset all of the bad reviews they were getting. I read a study saying 85% of people who are not happy with a service or company will NOT complain, they just go elsewhere. So, if you see too many bad reviews, you know there is something wrong.
One thing you might want to do before picking a service, if you have the time, is ask for the names of a current customers where you can see the quality of plants and service.
Malls, the lobby of a commercial building, a restaurant or hotel, many of these places have interior landscape services. Go in alone, walk through, and look for plants that have healthy looking foliage, plants that are clean and don’t have yellow or brown leaves on them.
If you see plants covered in dust, plants with brown, yellow, dead and dying leaves, you might want to avoid that interior plant care company.
I know that some interior landscape companies want you to sign a long term contract. This, of course, obligates you to stay with that company or pay a price. Be sure to get some assurance that if the service is not worth paying for, you can cancel with no extra cost to you.
The infrastructure of the interior landscape company that you do business with is the most important for getting what you pay for. The person that comes to your business to care for your plants and flowers each service visit is also important. I can tell you from experience that it is not an easy job. If your plant care person does a good job for you, let them know it. I hope that you find a good interior landscape company to take care of your office plants!
